Forward the Class A Customs NSF Letter provided on our main site to your local health department before purchasing to be sure these tanks will pass your local inspection, this is your responsibility. * No NSF Logo in tanks Non-Pressurized Tank All water tanks we carry must be vented allowing air in and out during use, they are not pressurized tanks. Fresh or Gray Water Use ideal for food vendors and extra water storage Seamless One-piece seamless construction, no seams to burst Resistant Stain Corrosion and Rust Resistant Color Creamy White so you can see waterline through tank Tank Preparation Tanks are made in a warehouse light scratching, scuffs, or dust may be present on tanks and does not effect performance of tank. Sanitize each tank prior to use to remove any debris from the manufacturing process, wipe with a damp cloth to remove surface dust or scuffs. Installation & Plumbing Have a certified technician install all parts to prevent product damage and personal injury. Do Not Pressurize Tank A garden hose is a pressurized water line, do not make a secured connection to the water tank with a pressurized line this will void any warranty on the tank. Tanks need to be gravity feed, this allows for air to escape while the water is going into the tank, see Basic Plumbing Diagram in photos.Turning a garden hose on half way does not work because you can control the amount of water flowing but not the pressure in the line, leaving the tank to fill risks exploding the tank.Class A Customs carries Gravity Fill Dishes in our online store that can be used with our fresh tanks. Do Not over-tighten fitting damage will occur, use plastic connecting fittings as metal will damage threads. Check our store for fill dishes, food grade fill hose and basic plumbing items. You will need to verify items needed, we are not aware of what you need. Mounting & Bracing Tank needs to be adequately supported, sit on level surface and braced to prevent movement during transit Do Not hang tank by ratchet straps, this is too thin and will not adequately support tank. Examples of bracing and supporting tanks can be found on Class A Customs Blog. Do Not place weight on tank, if you need to stack the tanks you will need a weight bearing shelf between them. Horizontal inlet tubing will allow priming to 30 feet.Consider a dry location to allow easy access if maintenance is required. The pumps should not be located in an area of less than 1 cubic foot unless adequate ventilation is provided. Excess heat may trigger the internal thermal breaker and interrupt operation. When the temperature drops the breaker will automatically reset and pump will run again. The pump can be mounted in any position if mounting the pump vertically the pump head should be in the down position. The mounting feet are intended to isolate the pump from the mounting surface, over-tightening, flattening or use of oversized screws will reduce the ability to isolate vibration and noise through the lines.ElectricalThe pump should be on a dedicated individual circuit protected by the specified fuse indicated on the motor label.A U/L, CE etc approved marine duty (ignition protected) switch rated at above 15AMPS is recommended and must interrupt current flow on the positive (+red) lead. The pump must be grounded to a known ground (battery). The ground wire must be the same
size (gauge/Mm2) as the positive wire.Proper wire sizing is required for good pump operation, if the wire is too small low-voltage will affect the pump performance and could create a fire hazard. The total current draw on the circuit must not exceed 15AMPS. If the pump is used in conjunction with other components, overload current protection (fuse or circuit breaker) and wire
size must be for the total amp requirements of all devices on the circuit.PlumbingWe recommend at least 1 foot of " (1/2") i.d. flexible high pressure tubing to both ports. Ideally the pump's ports/strainers should not be connected to plastic or rigid pipe. The pump's normal oscillation may transmit through rigid plumbing causing noise and possibly loosen or crack components.Installation of a 50 mesh strainer such as 51S01 series is recommended to prevent foreign degrees from entering the pump. Hex/swivel barb fittings provide easy removal if maintenance or access is required. The fittings are designed with a "taper seal" creating a water tight connection when hand-tightened. Always secure barb tubing connections with properly sized stainless steel clamps to prevent leaks, never use Teflon tape or sealing compounds on threads. Sealer may enter the pump causing a failure failure due to foreign debris and is not covered under warranty. Please research before purchasing this item, online videos and installation help can be found by searching classAcustoms blog FAQ's and Item Help Question: Can I hook a garden hose directly to the tank? Answer: No, do not make a sealed connection to the tank using a pressurized water supply, a garden hose is a pressurized water supply. It is recommended to use a fill dish that allows for gravity feeding of the tank, please review our basic plumbing example for more information. Question: Can I cut a hole in the tank and glue a new fitting in? Answer: No, the tank fittings are not glued in they are spun welded during the manufacturing process. We do offer Uniseal Fittings that are food safe and allow you to put a fitting in anywhere on the tank. Question: I need a custom tank can you make it? Answer: Class A Customs can manufacture custom tanks, however you would need to pre-pay for a mold and the tank, typical mold price is over $5,000.00 Question: I need a ____ Water Tank, do you have other sizes?
